Driver Behind Fatal July 4th Car Crash Identified – It Was Wellness Influencer Summer Wheaton!

What should have been a festive celebration turned fatal for a popular influencer and another driver on July 4.

Last week, three people were involved in a serious accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. Local law enforcement reported that shortly after 10:30 a.m. on the 4th, a white 2019 car Mercedes-Benz veered onto the central reservation, causing a fatal head-on collision with a Cadillac Escalade traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the Cadillac tragically died at the scene while the passenger and driver of the Mercedes were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. And it turns out that the latter was none other than a wellness influencer Summer Wheaton (photo above).

With over 100,000 subscribers on InstagramSummer is known for promoting healthy lifestyles…but this night was potentially anything but healthy.

According to ABC 7Summer was at a star-studded party in Nobu before the violent collision, the authorities having revealed to the The Malibu Times that speed and alcohol may have played a role. Sergeant Chris Söderlund of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station told the media outlet on Saturday:

“As for his presence at Nobu, that is part of the overall investigation and is not confirmed at this time.”

Since the accident, Summer has made her Instagram page private. We wonder how many angry comments she has received about this tragedy.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the poor soul who lost his life that night. Rest in peace.
