(KRON) — A Los Angeles man was arrested at San Francisco International Airport with “two suitcases full of illegal drugs” in June, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said.

On June 27, the Department of Homeland Security contacted the sheriff's office to say that TSA had found six kilograms of methamphetamine in two suitcases during a routine check. According to the sheriff's office, Paz-Guzman allegedly tried to smuggle the two suitcases through TSA security.

The suitcases belonged to Jauan Manuel Paz-Guzman, 23. SMCSO said he had a ticket to fly from SFO to Australia and intended to bring the drugs there.

Images shared by the sheriff's office show the suspected drugs packaged in four packages. Six kilos equals 13.2 pounds.

Paz-Guzman was incarcerated for transportation of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and burglary.

While the San Francisco Police Department provides law enforcement services to SFO, the SMCSO is responsible for criminal investigations.
