Minnesota Vikings weapon has an honest take on the complicated 2024 situation

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Camryn Bynum has one year left on his current contract as he stands to make just over $3.1 million during the 2024 NFL season before becoming a free agent without restriction in 2025.

Obviously, one of his main goals is to get a sack either via an extension deal with the Vikings or in the upcoming NFL free agency. Either way, Bynum doesn't seem to be sweating too much, as he prefers to take control of the things he can.

“You look at it for sure and you're excited about it,” Bynum said during a recent interview on the NFL Network. “But all I can do is play football, all I can do is prepare for the season,” Bynum added — a positive for Minnesota's defense that ranked only 24th in 2023 in passing yards allowed and just 22nd in defensive interception rate.

Bynum, who was selected in the second round (125th overall) by the Vikings in the 2021 NFL Draft, is coming off a solid year for Minnesota in the 2023 campaign.

That season, Bynum, a product of the California Golden Bears, had two interceptions, nine passes defended and 137 combined tackles in 17 games (all starts). Bynum recorded those two interceptions in a highlight-reel performance in a memorable 22-17 Week 7 home win over the San Francisco 49ers. Focus on professional football gave Bynum a 73.2 overall grade for all of his work in 2023 with a 79.1 run defense and 69.7 coverage grades.
