A Tenerife resident has revealed details of the two Brits Jay Slater was last seen with before he disappeared.

Jay Slater, 19, disappeared Monday morning after leaving with two other men while with friends on the island. They were all attending a three-day music festival. On Monday morning, Jay, who was trying to walk back to the south of the island, called his friend Lucy Mae Law to let her know that her phone battery was at 1 percent.

A woman identified only as Araceli, who works in the business next to the rental property, said: “I never saw the missing boy, but I know people saw him walking alone. I saw the two British men who stayed here. “I came to the café con leche on several occasions. One was around 40 years old. The other was slightly younger,” she told the Mirror.

The woman confirmed: “The police spoke to both of them [the British men]. They arrived on Saturday and were supposed to stay until Monday, but left on Tuesday.” Asked if they were expected to stay to be questioned by police, she replied: “I don't know.”

The vacation home was reportedly rented by the two men who were with Jay before he disappeared. The two men left their accommodation and returned to the UK yesterday. Jay had posted a photo of himself, cigarette in hand, on the steps of the property shortly before his disappearance.

Lucy Mae Law, a friend of Jay's, raised the alarm after receiving a call from him around 8 a.m. Monday. Jay, an apprentice bricklayer from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, told her he was walking back to their accommodation in the south of the island, thirsty and with only 1% battery on his phone. Jay's phone died shortly after and his last known location was given to rural Teno, a mountainous region of the island. His parents and brother have since flown to help with the search.

Lucy said she was unhappy with the Civil Guard's efforts and had asked British police to help search for her friend. Speaking to the Mirror, she said: “We need the British police here. I just want to find my partner. He's been missing for three days. Things aren't looking good now. We feel like It’s up to us to find him and that we” “I’m doing more than the police.”
