MPs: 3 knife wounds near Dowagiac

SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say deputies are searching for the suspect who stabbed three people near Dowagiac Thursday evening.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office said around 10:40 p.m. Thursday it was called to a report of a stabbing at a home on School Street, near the intersection of Garrett Road, B.C. Silver Creek township, west of Dowagiac.

When officers arrived, the sheriff's office said they found three people suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victims were a 73-year-old man, a 75-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man.

The two older victims were taken to the hospital, while the 31-year-old victim did not seek medical attention, according to the sheriff's office. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Authorities are searching for the suspect, who left the scene before police arrived. The sheriff's office has not released a description of the suspect but said there is no threat to the public.

The stabbing remains under investigation.
