Two victims killed in Richmond shooting identified

(KRON) — The Contra Costa County Coroner's Office has identified two people who were killed in a shooting in Richmond Tuesday afternoon.

The victims are Maciyah Brown, a 21-year-old woman from Richmond, and Alvaro Garcia Par, a 30-year-old man from Richmond. Two other people were shot and are expected to survive, Richmond police said. Their identities will not be revealed.

The shooting took place at 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, which is the address of Family Market and Deli. Police responded around 4:15 p.m. and found a victim dead at the scene. The other three showed up at the hospital.

Around 12:42 a.m. the next morning, another fatal shooting occurred a short distance away in the 1300 block of Kelsey Street.

The coroner's office told KRON4 the victim's name is being withheld at this time.

No arrests have been announced in connection with either shooting. The Richmond Police Department sent more officers on patrol in response to the shootings.
